Father's Day Weekend

It was a little busy, but a great time for the kids and hopefully the dad this weekend. We played outside in the pool/sprinkler on Saturday morning while Russ got some yardwork done. Then on Saturday evening, we went to the first Twins game of the season. This year, Gwen was tall enough so that we had to buy her her own ticket. It was a very packed game, so much so, that Trevor got to enjoy his first wave (a few times around). Unfortunately, the Twins didn't win, but we got to see home runs by Brandon Harris, Delmon Young, and then the family favorite Joe Mauer.

I was pleasantly surprised that Gwen lasted through the whole game until we left at the top of the 8th inning. She climbed around the seats, colored in her coloring book, and then was entertained by the food at the end part of our game. Trevor spent most of the game asking questions, and figuring out that there are other people that used to play on the Twins. And of course when he found out that Kirby Puckett has died, he focused in on that for the rest of the day.

So the actual Father's Day was also busy. Dad got to sleep in extra late, so we headed over to a birthday party in the afternoon. While it wasn't a bright sunny day, the kids got to slide down an inflatable waterslide and still enjoyed the water as it was still pretty warm outside. When it started to drizzle we headed inside for some toy playing. Then for dinner we headed up to a restaurant that we don't care to eat at, but Dad sure does ;-)

The kids now need a day to recover....but it's time to do our next activity. And it's supposed to be HOT this week. I'm excited!
