What a kid

Without sounding redundant, I hate Tuesdays. And we had a few things to do yesterday, but with Trevor and his growth spurt or whatever he is going through where he just does not want to listen, we had a long day yesterday. We had the doctor appointment where he had his shot. It went as good as could be expected. He woke up today asking if today was the 14th. He was very happy to know that it was because it was the day after his shot. And he won't have to deal with any more shots until at least he is 6.

He is feeling more and more independent, and would rather do things for himself than listen to what I want him to do. But with Disney coming up, I'm still trying to clue him in on how important it is to stay with us rather than running off and doing his own thing. I know part of it is the familiarity of knowing where he's supposed to go, and that Disney won't be the same. But he is at the age where he thinks he is a big shot, and I've been told it will not change until he goes to school in September. DAMN if that isn't going to be a long time from now!

Anyway, he's already starting to piece things together like asking where babies come "out" of. And then there is the whole understanding what is alive and what is not. I got a little frustrated trying to explain that the Death Star from Star Wars is not alive because he wants to say that he (and Luke) go and KILL the death star. I try to explain you can't kill the death star because it is not alive. It seemed to sit with him until he was listening to the description on a nintendo game where the scene is the rogue squadron go and "kill the death star". SERIOUSLY....#1 that he wants to prove me wrong and #2 who says that???

And now today, he says, "Are penalties alive, mom?" I say "No, they aren't Trevor." Quickly followed by, "Then how come the hockey players KILL the penalty." Oh good grief.

The final questions come care of The Muppets Take Manhattan. There is a scene where a robber takes Miss Piggy's purse and runs off with it. Now I'm getting all the "why" questions about that. And thankfully after he gets caught a police officer comes and takes him away which went right along with what I told him. However, it still does not compute that anyone would want to take the purse (or the money in it) from anyone else. Boy to I feel bad about crushing his perfect view of the world.....
