The hockey games

We went to two hockey games this weekend to watch Boston College play vs. the Gophers. I have to say it was a little weird because while I was very happy to cheer for BC and Tracy, when the Minnesota Rouser would play, it was hard to not join in. The first game, we were upstairs in the club level and most of the time Trevor was behind the enclosed room since he thought the arena was too loud.

We brought Trevor's hockey sticks and foam puck to play hockey while there, and he was very happy to yell REBOUND since he was still in the Basketball frame of mind. At least that applies to both sports! We were also surrounded by all the BC fans so when the cheers came for the gophers, they weren't as loud as when we went back on Sunday.

The first game ended in a tie. After the game we said hi to the team upstairs in the club box, and then went to Sally's - a local sports bar a few blocks from the arena. Trevor walked with Grandpa over to the bar and we drove the car over and were lucky to find a parking spot.

We were home I think it was about 6 o'clock. Gwen had a bit of a fussy day, and wasn't very pleased with everyone that wanted to get a good look at her. But had a very good night's sleep that night.

So we went back for the second hockey game after Gwen's baptism (that will be another post). And took another route to the arena. Right past Sally's - which Trevor recognized and told us about it before we said anything. What a smarty pants.

We arrived at the arena and unfortunately BC did not win this one. And because we were in the stands surrounded by gopher fans, it was a little confusing for Trevor as to how we are from Minnesota, yet we are supposed to be cheering for Boston College?

Up on the scoreboard, they had a lot of announcements as well as the words to the rouser which part of the song you spell Minnesota. That was T's favorite part. So now, when we play (or in my case watch him) play hockey, that is what we do. The Minnesota Rouser.

I wonder how it is going to be when we go out to Boston in a few weeks to watch another two games but no Minnesota Rouser will be there?
